Leaf is built to be private. Your financial information stays on your device and in your own iCloud account. We do not run servers that store your data, we cannot see your expenses, and we never sell your information.
This Privacy Policy explains how the Leaf app ("Leaf", "we", "us") handles information when you use it. By using Leaf you agree to this policy.
Leaf lets you record expenses, income, budgets, and recurring items. This includes details you enter such as amounts, merchant names, categories, dates, and optional notes or voice transcripts. This information is stored locally on your device using Apple's on device database.
If you have iCloud enabled, this information is also synced to your private iCloud account so it is backed up and available across your Apple devices. This sync uses Apple iCloud (CloudKit private database). It is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to your iCloud data.
If you choose to log expenses by voice, Leaf uses your device microphone and speech recognition. Transcription and the AI that fills in the amount, merchant, and category run on your device. Your voice audio is not stored by us and is not sent to our servers. We have no servers that receive it.
Leaf offers an optional paid plan (Leaf Pro). Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment card details.
To manage entitlements and to present offers, Leaf uses two service providers:
To operate, these providers may process limited technical and purchase related information, such as an anonymous app user identifier, your device type and app version, your purchase or trial status, and your IP address. They do not receive your expenses, income, or other financial entries.
Your in app data is protected by your device security (such as your passcode and device encryption) and by the security of your iCloud account. Leaf also offers an optional Face ID or Touch ID lock you can enable inside the app.
Leaf is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page.
